MAY WRAP-UP: THANKS FOR A FIN-TASTIC YEAR!

PTSO BOARD ELECTION RESULTS

We are excited to announce the results of the Orchard Heights PTSO board member elections for the 2026-2027 school year, held during our general meeting on May 7th. We are pleased to report that all candidates were unanimously approved. Here are the new board members:

  • President: Sarah Rosser
  • Vice-President: Brittany Enquest
  • Secretary: Andrea Vincent
  • Treasurer: Joe Napier
  • Volunteer Coordinator: Pamela Reid
  • Board Member at Large: Linda Varda

Additionally, we are happy to share that Kimberly Austin-Ellis will serve as our teacher liaison again this year, ensuring a strong connection between the PTSO and our dedicated teaching staff. We would also like to bid farewell to our Treasurer, Elijah Allensworth, Secretary, Sheena Harms, and Social Media Coordinator, Kaitlyn Horton who will all move on next year. Thank you for your leadership, positive energy, and dedication throughout the last 3 years.

Congratulations to all our newly elected board members! We look forward to a fantastic school year ahead under your leadership. Thank you to everyone who participated in the voting process.

ORCHARD HEIGHTS CELEBRATES 80 YEARS

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Orchard Heights 80th Anniversary Open House! We were thrilled to see such a great turnout from our community, including alumni, former staff, students, families, and friends. Guests enjoyed exploring the school through self-guided tours, viewing the 1986 time capsule display, reconnecting with familiar faces, and participating in fun activities like yard games, face painting, and cake. It was a wonderful day filled with memories, laughter, and community pride as we celebrated 80 years of Orchard Heights. Fun was truly had by all!

MAY POPCORN DAY

A big thank you to this month’s Surprise Popcorn Day sponsors, Ms. Christenberry and Ms. Crowther! Their generosity helped provide a fun and delicious treat for our Orchard Heights Sharks. We are grateful for their support and for helping make our students’ day a little extra special.

PTSO HIGHLIGHTS

The PTSO is proud to support our amazing Sharks! This month’s accomplishments:

  • Funded Taproots Anti-Bullying Assembly
  • Purchased $3000 worth of books for the upcoming All School Book Giveaway
  • Provided $350 for supplies for the Month of the Military Child Breakfast
  • Will provide funds for Shark Patrol end-of-year celebration, 5th Grade celebration, and popsicles for Field Days.
  • Acquired beauty bark donation from Morrison Gravel for flower beds around the school

Thank you for helping us make these resources possible—it’s your support that makes it happen! 

CELEBRATING OUR AMAZING TEACHERS

The Orchard Heights PTSO was proud to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! Throughout the week, we kept the staff lounge stocked with snacks and provided special daily treats, including coffee, donuts, lunch, pizza, and muffins.

A heartfelt thank you to the families and community members who donated items through our Amazon Wishlist. Your generosity helped make the week extra special and showed our staff how much they are appreciated. We are grateful for everyone who helped us celebrate the dedicated educators and staff who make Orchard Heights such a wonderful place for our Sharks to learn and grow!
